To have a successful career in Hollywood requires tenacity, passion, good story ideas, luck, and money. If you've never made a film before, this comprehensive, thought-provoking workshop will show you how to do it on a low budget. Using a variety of independent movies as examples of what works and what doesn't, the instructor will lead you through the entire production process from shooting script to final cut. You will learn how to:

  • Rewrite your script to fit the realities of a low budget production
  • Get a star actor to be in your movie and leverage their name to generate foreign pre-sales
  • Manage production logistics using forms, contracts, and software
  • Assemble a knowledgeable crew even if you have little money to pay people up front
  • Rent the right video, audio, lighting, and grip equipment. Every piece of equipment is covered in detail.
  • Use low-cost technology to produce expensive looking movies
  • Stage the scene properly and get sufficient shot coverage to make editing easier
  • Edit your video with professional editing software
  • Add music, sound effects, and voiceover to your video

Course handouts include digital production forms and contracts you can use for your project along with a full checklist of equipment, supplies, and people you'll need to be successful.

This class will motivate you to take action, stop making excuses, and finally shoot something that will catapult your career to the next level. Stop waiting forever for a big movie studio to green-light your movie. With today's incredible, low-cost technology, you no longer need Hollywood to finance your dreams. All you need is the desire and willingness to work very hard, and the knowledge of how to produce something professionally, which this class provides. Jump in and learn how other guerrilla filmmakers made their first feature and found success.
